Acupuncture Treatment

Acupuncture is one of the core treatments at the Copperfield Equine Therapy & Rehabilitation Centre.

Acupuncture treatment involves inserting sterile stainless steel needles into specific points using electro-current to stimulate the nerve function. It is commonly used to relieve musculoskeletal pain and treat a wide range of medical conditions.

Catherine Cooper, owner of the centre, trained extensively with the Acupuncture School Ireland as well as the Chi Institute TCVM in the U.S.A. and studied Equine Nutrition.

Catherine is certified in Veterinary Acupuncture and has spent the last 16 years working as an Equine Acupuncturist with an established reputation for successfully treating horses for a range of conditions all across Ireland.

Veterinary Herbal Medicine

Along with her qualifications in the acupuncture field, Catherine is also a certified herbalist, using natural medicine for many years with great success.

She has produced many of her own formulas that have proven extremely effective in the treatment of a great selection of patterns of disease.

Catherine will generally make a specific formula to suit individual needs as there are no ‘one size fits all’ solutions in this field.

Medicines are administered daily to each horse when necessary for optimal results.

Note: Copperfield Equine Therapy’s unique Herbal Remedies are available for purchase by making direct contact with Catherine and outlining symptoms for diagnosis.

Veterinary Treatment

Prior to arrival our team of vets will have given necessary veterinary treatment for each horse, and will consult with us to continue further treatment programmes required for each individual case, to achieve maximum results.

Nutrition

Nutritional advice is offered by a consultant nutritionist specialising in Complete Analysis of feeding, balancing your horse diet in according to daily requirements of work load. Using supplemental nutrients and nutraceuticals to support normal growth and assist the horse in dealing with stresses, injuries, or illnesses.

Magnetic Therapy – Pulsed Magnetic Field

The purpose of this treatment is to disable microbes that are not floating around in the bloodstream but are hiding in root canals, the lymph system, the stomach areas, etc. This is a very important part of the protocol of wellness. Used for any kind of disease, inflammation, infection or pain.

Craino Sacral Therapy or Cranial Osteopathy

This is a light-touch, hands on treatment that enhances the body’s natural healing capabilities and releases trauma from the central nervous system. Since the 1970′s it has been shown in a wide range of medical problems associated with pain/loss of function.
